Clearing your device cache and data

To clear your cache and help with performance stability, you can try clearing stored data on your device using the following steps:

 

Android phone and tablet

Android TV

Apple TV

Chromecast

Web browser

Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

PlayStation 4 

Xbox One

 

Note: When you’re online, your device downloads many, many files so you can get the experience you expect from the websites and apps you’re using. Some of these files are stored on your device so your experience is seamless. These stored files are your cache. Over time, however, your cache can fill with files that slow performance for a variety of reasons. That’s why it’s a good idea to clear your cache periodically, especially if you’re having trouble using Disney+.

 

Android phone and tablet

On certain Android models, you can clear Disney+ cached data from Settings. Please follow these steps:

  1. From the home screen, go to Settings 
  2. Go to Apps > Disney+ > Storage
  3. Select Clear Cache and Clear Data

 

Android TV 

To clear the Disney+ cached data from Android TV, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Applications > Disney+ 
  2. Select Clear Cache and Clear Data

 

Apple TV (all generations), iPhone, iPad

To clear cached data on an Apple TV, try uninstalling or reinstalling the Disney+ app .

 

Chromecast

For Chromecast, follow the steps for your Android or iOS casting device. 

To clear the data and cache from your Chromecast built-in app, please follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, select Settings
  2. Select Apps
  3. Select Chromecast built-in
  4. Select Clear data
  5. Select OK
  6. Select Clear cache
  7. Select OK
  8. Restart your TV 
    • To restart: Hold the green standby button on the remote for more than five seconds 
    • Release the button when the TV screen becomes black

Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

To clear the Disney+ cached data, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Disney+
  2. Select both Clear Cache and Clear Data

 

PlayStation 4

To clear the Disney+ cached data, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings at the top of the dashboard 
  2. Select Storage > System Storage > Saved Data 
  3. Highlight Disney+ 
  4. Press Options 
  5. Select Delete

 

Xbox One

To clear the Disney+ cached data, please follow these steps:

  1. From the Xbox home menu, select My Games and Apps 
  2. Select Apps 
  3. Highlight the Disney+ tile 
  4. Press the Menu button on your controller (three parallel lines) to bring up More Options 
  5. Select Manage App 
  6. Clear the Saved data
