Why am I getting low-quality video instead of 4K Ultra HD?

Your streaming experience may be compromised for a variety of reasons.

Make sure the title supports 4K Ultra HD

In most cases, Disney+ will automatically detect your system’s capabilities and play the formats supported by the title you’re watching. You can find the supported formats in the DETAILS section under each title.

Make sure you’re using 4K Ultra HD

First, please make sure you’re using a 4K Ultra HD device, TV, or display and a high-speed Internet connection (25 Mbps or higher recommended).

Make sure your Internet connection speed is good

If your connection is slow, it could be compromising your video quality. To test your Internet connection, take a speed test.

Don’t use an in-line video or game recorder

Use of an in-line video or game recorder may prevent playback or limit the video and audio quality in order to protect from piracy.

Check your system components

To enjoy the highest-quality Disney+ experience, all components should support high-bandwidth digital content, including HDMI cables. External displays should support HDCP 2.2 for 4K Ultra HD and HDR content. Older audio and video components can have an impact on quality or possibly prevent playback entirely.
